PE with Joe – The Body Coach


Joe Wicks is hosting free workouts aimed at kids live on his YouTube channel. You don't need any equipment, just tune in to his channel for a 30-minute workout live at 9am Monday to Friday. If you have a smart TV, Chromecast or Amazon Fire, or a set-top box with the YouTube channel, you can stream the videos to your living room through your TV. If you don’t, you can still stream via a phone or tablet and all workouts are being made available on catch-up, on Joe’s YouTube channel, after each event has ended to be streamed later if you cannot make the live class.

Oti Mabuse Dance Class


Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse is streaming dance classes suitable for all age groups on her YouTube channel. Along with her dance partner, the pair will be teaching steps from famous dances as well as choreographing new routines.

Just Dance


Be your own DJ, select your favourite song and copy the dance movements.

1. Research and explain what the terms ‘strength’ and ‘conditioning’ mean.


2. Write a description for each component of fitness. Use the link below or the attached ‘Components of Fitness’ PowerPoint (below) to help you make your own version!


Health related components of fitness:
Cardiovascular fitness
Muscular endurance
Body composition

Skill related components of fitness:
Reaction time

Pass: Name them.
Merit: Write a sentence about them.
Distinction: Name them & write a sentence and add a sporting picture.

E.g Muscular strength is the amount of force a muscle can exert against a resistance.



3. What are the benefits of being physically fit. How will you feel and look?


Pass: Name at least 5 reasons
Merit: Explain at least 7 reasons
Distinction: Describe at least 10 reasons


4. Find out what equipment can be used to improve your strength and conditioning.
